Session 6: Landscapes and Health

This webinar will discuss evidence-based research and related theories of human-landscape experience, innovative technological tools, and the applications of healthy landscapes and healthy people. Experts from around the Pacific Rim will come together to explore the applications of human health research to urban greenspace planning, and to reflect on complex questions like, “What is evidence-based landscape design? How does it relate to design and human health policies? How can modern technology help fill the gap between research and application?”

Shih-Han Hung

Shih-Han Hung’s research interest is to understand the relationship between nature and human wellbeing. Previous study on this topic was about discussing physical and mental benefits through practicing qigong in urban green spaces, which had showed that grass landscape promotes human health benefits (e.g. induce flow experience and qi experience); water landscape provided reflection experience, high preference, and perception of qi experience. Now her research focus on the concept of biophilia, perceived biophilic design, and human-environment experience in the urban green space. Han is a PhD student in National Taiwan University.
