Each year, the Global Health Program organizes student competitions to encourage young talent to address real-world challenges and showcase their research skills across the Asia-Pacific. Winners of Global Health Student Poster Contest
Selected within 54 submissions from 24 universities in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United States, we give a big congratulations to the winners of the APRU Global Health Student Poster Contest 2019.
Undergraduate:

Finalists of Global Health Student Virtual Case Competition
The fourth annual APRU Global Health Case Competition challenges students to address “Social Networking Intervention to Promote Physical Activity Among Young People in Urban Environments”
In this challenge, teams were asked to develop a hypothetical intervention to increase physical activity rates among young people in an urban environment in the Asia-Pacific region. The intervention plan shows the integration of incorporate innovative, cost-effective, and culturally-appropriate strategies that are evidence-based.
The case competition gives students an opportunity to practice their critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to help solve global health challenges. Teams of 4-6 students provide a 10-minute video in English, proposing a realistic, well designed, and innovative solution.
The three finalists (in no order):
- University of Indonesia (Makara team)
- The University of Hong Kong (JAJA team)
- UCLA (The Gamechangers team)
The winner is JAJA team. A prize of USD 500 will be awarded.
