Our Hong Kong Foundation

Our Hong Kong Foundation (OHKF) is a non-government, non-profit organisation founded in November 2014 by Mr. Tung Chee-hwa, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and former Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR. OHKF aims to contribute to Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability as well as its sustainable development under the “One Country, Two Systems” principle. The Foundation has three member organisations:  the Public Policy Institute that focuses on public policy research, advocacy, and engagement as a think tank; the Academy of Chinese Studies that promotes traditional Chinese culture and tells the stories of China today, and Hong Kong Chronicles Institute that produces a book series about Hong Kong’s development over time for preserving history and educating the people.

APEC University Leaders’ Forum 2019 Program

President Sebastian Piñera, President of Chile and Chair of APEC Chile 2019, has announced the cancellation of APEC Leaders’ Week in November 2019. This includes the APEC CEO Summit.

We regret to inform you that, in consultation with our APRU member and host of the APEC University Leaders’ Forum, The University of Chile, we have therefore decided to cancel the event.

We wish to thank you for your commitment to the Forum and regret any inconvenience this cancellation may cause. It was due to be a signature event and we will work hard to provide a similar opportunity in the future.

We thank the University of Chile for its graciousness in hosting this Forum and for the considerable work preparing for it.

Please see a letter from Rector Ennio Vivaldi. Our thoughts are with him and The University of Chile as their community responds to the imperatives for “a fairer and more equal society.”

For more information, please contact, Jackie Agnello Wong, APRU Marketing and Business Development Manager, [email protected].

Overview

The APEC University Leaders’ Forum, organized by the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) and the University of Chile, convenes presidents of the leading Asia-Pacific research universities together with leaders from major global corporations and government to share insights and discuss the critical issues of the region alongside the 2019 APEC Chile CEO Summit.

The Forum theme was ‘Women in Digital Society’ drawn from the overarching theme for APEC Chile 2019. More specifically, it was to discuss the role of women, new opportunities for leadership and the predicted impact of technological developments on gender and society within the region.
