Chair of APRU and Chancellor of UCLA, Prof Gene Block visits top universities of Hong Kong to enhance international collaboration, deepen partnerships, and support APRU leadership in the region, December 2-4, 2019.
Serving as an APRU Steering Committee Member and hosting the APRU International Secretariat on his campus, President Wei Shyy, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) brought together senior members of the university who have engaged and collaborated on APRU projects, including a Google collaboration on the Transformation of Work, the Asia-Pacific Women in Leadership Program, Asia Pacific Conference on Innovation Ecosystems and AI for Everyone.

The University of Hong Kong President Zhang Xiang hosted a meeting of senior leaders and APRU focused on APRU collaborations. Chancellor Block expressed support for universities in Hong Kong at this time.

Chancellor Block visited President Rocky Tuan of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and APRU Steering Committee member, who also hosted the APRU delegation to lunch. As chair of C9 and HK3, President Rocky Tuan and APRU Secretary General Christopher Tremewan spoke recently at the Presidents roundtable at Xi’an Jiao Tong University for the annual meeting of the China 9 and Hong Kong 3, the top universities in China and Hong Kong SAR.
