Funded Training Opportunity at Resilient Cities Conference 2017 – Extension of Application Deadline
November 28, 2016

The APRU Sustainable Cities & Landscapes Hub brings you a unique training opportunity taking place at the Resilient Cities 2017 Forum in May 2017.

Collaborating pairs of individuals representing a university and a local municipal/ city government will be funded to receive training on a unique and very successful engagement framework presently already implemented by over 30 University partners

The model is called Educational Partnership for Innovation in Communities Network (EPIC-N) and is designed to address the broad spectrum of sustainability-related information and knowledge needs of local governments and communities.

This has been developed from the successful collaboration between University and local governments where students and faculty are connection with real-world projects that address pressing needs of cities and local municipalities. This is done through systematically matching city needs with university capacity in ways that benefit all parties, with lasting and sustainable impacts for all involved

Selected pairs of candidates will be funded up to US$4,000 per person to participate in a one-day training on the EPIC-N Model, and to attend the Resilient Cities 2017 Forum taking place in Bonn, Germany.

In brief:

The training organizers have requested that pairs (one local government and one university representative) submit Expressions of Interest by 25 January with:

  1. Names and affiliations for both individuals
  2. Contact information for both individuals
  3. A short 1-2 paragraph explanation of why they are interested in this training

Selected pairs will be funded to attend the training on 3 May and the Resilient Cities congress 4 – 6 May (Bonn, Germany).
