The APRU project report, “Transformation of Work in Asia Pacific in the 21st Century,” was released during a media launch at HKUST Business School Central on March 11, 2019. The project research findings would be widely disseminated in a series of five events to take place in various economies of the Asia Pacific.
The report highlights challenges and opportunities of digital automation which have affected the future workforce and skill development in Asia Pacific economies. Policy recommendations are given to the leaders of higher education, government and industry to address the transformation through developing reskilling and reform capacities.
The project’s lead university, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology along with nine other academics and experts from across the region contributed to its research findings since late 2017.
